What is LANTITE?
The Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) is a compulsory assessment for all aspiring teachers. It ensures that graduating educators have the literacy and numeracy skills required to meet national teaching standards.
The LANTITE test is literacy and numeracy focused, and assesses each candidate’s personal literacy and numeracy skills. All students who are studying education at any level (undergraduate or postgraduate), are required to successfully complete the test prior to their graduation. This test enhances teachers skills, knowledge and strengthens the quality of teaching.
